Fast‑growing clean‑tech maritime business developing wind‑assisted propulsion systems is seeking a hands‑on Principal Design Engineer to lead structural/mechanical design of major subsystems.
You’ll own 3D/parametric modelling, structural analysis, and class‑compliant design, taking concepts through to production‑ready hardware with real‑world feedback.
ABOUT YOU
-
Degree in Mechanical / Structural / Marine / Naval Architecture
-
5–10 years designing marine/offshore structures
-
Strong 3D CAD & parametric modelling (NX, Inventor, similar)
-
Structural analysis: FEA + hand calcs
-
Experience with DNV / Lloyd’s Register / NK
-
Background in large steel structures / welded assemblies
-
Ability to turn load cases → validated designs
-
Comfortable in a fast‑paced, hardware‑focused environment

Develop wing geometry & structural philosophy

Define load cases and ensure classification compliance

Perform/oversee stress & fatigue analysis

Engage directly with class societies
